Here is a cropped detail of an artwork that will be exhibited in Brunswick later this month. The exhibition titled The Darkness Within is curated by Joe Blanck and will feature a range of artists in this pop up space. I wanted to create an ambiguous character that is part menace and part fragility, playing on the archetype of the big bad wolf from nursery rhymes. Special thanks to the talented Tim Coghill for lending his scruffy looks to creating this character. Come to the exhibition to see the full image!
Update 18/05/2013: Sold the artwork!
It was a packed night at the Brunswick Street Gallery for the opening of the Fashion as Art exhibition. I had a big wall to myself to display my four 20×30″ prints. These images came from my Carly and the Caravan series. I must say that the images held up very well to that enlargement size and it made all the careful hard work and editing time worth while. This photo below is of me and the lovely model Carly Peacock, who modeled in these photos. Thanks so much to all who turned up and supported this show. For those interested to see these images and the rest of the exhibition in person, it is on till the 22nd September. See the invite for more details.
I have some of my fashion images in an upcoming exhibition at Brunswick Street Gallery in Fitzroy. They are a set of four images printed 20×30″ and look pretty good if I do say so myself. Feel free to go and check it out or catch me at the opening this Friday 9th September!
You can see one of my images on the top right of the invite.
